What is POM bearing?

Materials. POM bearings are made from a steel backing to which a sintered bronze layer is applied. A POM top layer is then applied to this bronze layer. The bronze intermediate layer ensures efficient heat dissipation and makes for a strong joint between the steel backing and the sliding surface.

What are the characteristics of pom bearing?

Pom bearings have the following characteristics:
1. The whole pom bearing is made of lubricating material and has a long service life;
2. The pom bearing will not rust and is resistant to corrosion, while the metal bearing is easy to rust and cannot be used in chemical liquids;
3. The weight of pom bearing is lighter than that of metal, which is more suitable for modern lightweight design trend;
4. The manufacturing cost of pom bearings is lower than that of metal; plastic bearings are injection molded, which is more suitable for mass production;
5. The pom bearing operates without noise and has a certain vibration absorption function;
6. Pom bearings are suitable for high and low temperature work -200 ~ +250 degrees;

POM is a material with good mechanical strength and wears resistance, suitable for making more precise plastic bearings. Its good self-lubricating performance and low friction coefficient can be applied to precision and high-speed operation to maintain the traditional advantages of plastic bearings. Among them, POM plastic bearings are the most widely used of all plastic bearings. Generally, the inner and outer balls are made of POM or PA, and the cage is made of glass fiber reinforced nylon 66. Steel balls are glass balls, stainless steel balls, or ceramic balls. This bearing performs well in alkaline environments but is not suitable for operation in acidic environments.
